Andrea James is a Hollywood-based writer, director and activist. After graduating with a Master's Degree in English from the University of Chicago, she wrote ads for ten years at top Chicago agencies. In 2003, Andrea created Deep Stealth Productions with business partner Calpernia Addams to improve media depictions of transgendered people. Andrea produced the first all-trans performance of The Vagina Monologues, featured in the documentary Beautiful Daughters and the HBO documentary Middle Sexes. Her instructional video Finding Your Female Voice led to consulting with Felicity Huffman and an appearance in the film Transamerica. Andrea recently directed the short film Casting Pearls and is currently developing two new projects.
